Did you know that there are actually four branches of Oriental medicine in addition to Acupuncture? Ancient physicians of Oriental Medicine theorized that the human body is designed to last 120 years and developed ways to actually heal the body and improve it’s function.
Branch 1: “Right Thinking”
The first branch included what is known as “right-thinking” and was considered crucial for a longer life. Right thinking involves using things to have you focused on what is going on at that current moment. Things such as meditation, tai chi, and other exercises were developed to help you achieve that state of moment-to-moment awareness of what is going on around you.
Branch 2: Nutrition
Another branch includes nutrition, about which massive volumes of been written. Simply put, in Oriental Nutrition theory, you should eat foods that are correct for your body type. You should also eat foods that are correct for the current season.
Branch 3: Chinese Herbal Medicine
One more branch is Chinese Herbal Medicine. There are up to 5000 different herbs that you might consume either on your own or, more often, in a formula specifically designed for you. Such therapy is designed to increase circulation in the body and/or stimulate organ function, sometimes causing detoxification.
Branch 4: Massage
A fourth branch of Oriental Medicine is massage. Massage employs manual manipulation of the body’s joints and pressure to alleviate many conditions, most often conditions that are musculoskeletal in nature.
Branch 5: Acupuncture
Used for thousands of years, this ancient healing art improves organ and circulatory function to help a variety of health concerns.
